Its absolutely frightening what gets remembered. About halfway through the film, a montage of traditional African dancers juxtaposed against “clowns” and “krumps” produces one of the most awe inspiring déjà vu moments ever. The opening seen is a stylized recreation of the Rodney King beating that is transformed into one of the most energetic dance forms ever. About 15 minutes into the film you realize . . . and still we rise.
