Venezuela official says aim of recouping more from oil firms is 'sovereignty'

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - The Venezuelan government is working to make sure foreign oil companies pay a fair share in taxes for pumping oil in the country, the oil minister said Saturday. "We are battling to rescue our oil sovereignty," Energy Minister Rafael Ramirez said during a visit to the eastern oil-producing state Monagas.
